National 4-H Engineering Event To Be State Fair Feature Over 75 contestants, representing 21 states, are expected to participate in the 34th National 4-H Engineering Event, a featured attraction of the 1984 State Fair of Virginia, September 20-30. Features include m tractor operation# automotive, small engine, electric-energy and engineering with contests and parade for taro days on the foi/grounds, according to George A. Vaulting Demonstration and Clinic Vaulting, the art of gymnastics on the moving horse, and sometimes referred to as ‘trick riding*, will be offered in a demonstration and clinic given Thursday, July 26 in the Joan of Arc arena at Derby Meadows. Ladies Auxiliary To Meet The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Sunday, July 29, at 5 p.m. at the cook stand at the carnival grounds. All members are urged to attend. The carnival will begin Wednesday, August 1 and continue through Saturday evening, August 4.
Williamsburg Pottery Trip Planned Fauquier County Parks and Recreation has planned a trip by air conditioned chartered bus to the pottery factory in Williamsburg on Wednesday, August 8. The bus will leave from Fauquier High School at 7:30 a.m. and return to Fauquier High at 10:00 p.m. Food and beverages may be taken on the bus. Cost of the trip is $12.00 per person.
