Construction of temporary housing for seasonal farm workers was OK’d July 18 by the Planning Commission—but only after questions were answered and concerns resolved.
Zoning Administrator David Konick presented special use permit for construction of the housing on the property of Alex Sharp of Harris Hollow.
Sharp described the units as a cluster of buildings, approximately 1,568 square feet, with two sleeping units, a bath house and kitchen.
Commissioner Werner Krebser asked if the units were only to be used for seasonal workers and how long the units would be in use.
Sharp said the units were seasonal, and would be used from August 1 to November 15.
The remainder of the year, the buildings would be closed, Sharp said in response to a question from Commissioner David Fannon.
Chairman A. Y. Stokes asked how many workers would be housed there, to which Sharp said nine or 10.
