A pilgrimage to Ash Lawn-Highland was the highlight of the April 8 meeting of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR. Nineteen members from Rappahannock, Culpeper and Madison counties took the tour.
Touring the main house was of special interest as the Virginia State Regent, Mrs. G. E. Honts, had selected assistance in the restoration of the building as her project for her three-year term. The gift from the 124 chapters in Virginia amounted to $7,261.
Mrs. Dale Metzinger, Regent, told the members the Culpeper Chapter had received the American (Heritage Certificate of Appreciation for the best chapter program— the Jameson Day Ceremony, recognition for excellence in the presentation of the Virginia Genealogy Seminary, and an honorable mention for the Culpeper American Heritage Committeee.
