Mary Banks
Mary (May) Catherine Banks, 70, of Strasburg, died Saturday, April 12, at Liberty House Nursing Home, Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Banks was bom June 7, 1915, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Marsell and Carrie Carter Carpenter. She was a member of Esbie Baptist Church and the church Missionary Circle.
Surviving with her husband, Samuel Banks, are a sister, Mary Langford of Culpeper, and a brother, Chester Carpenter of New Jersey.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a. m. at Esbie Baptist Church by Rev. Lee Tucker. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Strasburg.
Lawrence Freeman
Lawrence Milton Freeman, 72, of Philadelphia, Pa., died Sunday, April 6, at the home of his daughter Mrs. Bessie F. Grigsby at Sperryville. Mr. Freeman was retired from the maintenance department of LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
