at Germanna

br»g their unique style^ef-finger-picking blues and ragtime guitar music to Germanna Community College on May 3.
John Jackson was bom and raised in Rappahannock County, and hopes to see many of his friends and local followers while he is in the area.
James Jackson will begin the music portion of the Germanna event, and he and his friend, Joe Pearson, promise to include a couple of hot “slidin’ blues” guitar licks in their repertoire.
John will follow his son with that good and solid acoustic blues guitar music that has taken him to Europe, the near and Far East, and to festivals and music workshops all over Canada and the United States. He has five record albums to his credit, and since his encounter with UVA folklore professor Chuck Purdue in 1964, his music calendar has been filled with countless engagements.
Jackson, a grave-digger by profession, is giving his time and talents to this event to raise money for student scholarships at Germanna Community College. The event is a joint student, faculty, staff, and alumni venture.
Many other performers are also volunteering their time and talents for this worthwhile community effort. A flea market/crafts festival will open the day at 8 a,m.
