Evelyn Willis
Evelyn Willis is a Washington native who has returned after many years away. She is completing her first term on the council.
“Zoning is very important to me,” she said. “I’d like to see the architectural review board refined, and I’d like for people to understand it.”
“The town will grow whether we plan for it or not,” she predicted. “We need to use common sense in our planning. We need to protect our town.”
Mrs. Willis is worried about the town’s treasury. “We really don’t have any money,” she said. “If something happened to the water system, we’d be in terrible trouble.”
Mrs. Willis is interested in finding a source of revenue, but only if “it’s completely fair and across the board.”
She, too, wants to avoid a personal tax.
Though her concerns are many, her reason for running for another term is basic: “I care about the town,” she said “It’s as simple as that.”
