Survivors include his wife, Lucille Freeman of Philadelphia; one daughter, Bessie F. Grigsby of Sperryville; three sons, Lawrence 0. Freeman of Montgomery, Ala., Dudley B. Freeman of Somerville, N. J., and Robert B. Freeman of Plainfield, N. J.; two stepsons, Robert and Lewis, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; 17 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Promise Land Baptist Church, Washington, Saturday, April 12, with the Rev. John Pendleton of Flint Hill officiating. Interment was at the family cemetery at Washington.
W. C. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Lillie Leake
Lillie Blondell Leake, 92, of Sperryville, died Wednesday, April 9, at her residence. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of Charles and Fenton Brown Woodard and the widow of John Thomas Leake.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois McFarland, Carrie Jenkins and Lillie Corbin, all of Sperryville; a son, Conrad Leake of Culpeper; a step-daughter, Lillian Leake of Chester Gap; 20 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday, April 12, at Washington Masonic Cemetery by Rev. John Burke and Rev. Michael Lamm.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
