4Backstage at the Kirov’ Backstage at the Kirov will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on April 19 and 20. This documentary gives us a look at the famed Kirov Ballet in Russia from whence emerged Pavlova, Nijinsky, Balanchine, Nureyev, Makarova, and Baryshnikov. The subject here is a rising young ballerina as she prepares for her debut in Swan Lake.
Humane Society to meet The Rappahannock Humane Society will meet Monday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. TTie meeting is tentatively scheduled for the courthouse, however, due to renovations, an alternate site may be announced later. This will be a regular business meeting. Members and all interested persons are urged to attend. For additional information call President Vince Hannon at 937-4051.
Annual benefit dinner The annual dinner sponsored by the Castleton Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be held April 25 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Roast beef and turkey will be served. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.25 for children.
