Jan Lynn Hitt, a student at Rappahannock County High School, was named recently as an Academic AllAmerican, the National Secondary Education Council announced.
The NSEC has established the Academic All-American Scholar Award Program in order to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disciplines. To be recognized as an Academic All-American, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.3 or better. In addition, each scholar must be nominated by a secondary school instructor, counselor or other qualified sponsor.
