The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community has been awarded a $4,000 grant by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, which will be applied toward the Blue Ridge Collaboration, a multimedia performance piece currently in production by local artists Sally Nash, Tom Espinola and Joel Hoyer. The production will feature original dance choreographed by Ms. Nash, music by Mr. Espinola and props by Mr. Hoyer which will be used both as backdrops and as parts of the dance. It is inspired by and based on The Gift, a novel by Louis Hyde. RAAC’s director, Ann Stephens, said of the piece, “It is beautiful. . . it’s just incredible.
