Julie Whitworth, a rising junior at Wakefield School in Huntly, is one of 200 high school students statewide selected to attend the Governor’s School for the Gifted this summer at the University of Richmond.
Miss Whitworth, a Wakefield Academic Honors student, was Secretary of the student body and a class Prefect. She was also this year’s recipient of the Laura Virginia Hale U.S. History Award, the Classical Greek Prize, of the Barbara Myatt Memorial All-Round Girl Award, and of the Prep School Leadership Award. In March, while representing Virginia’s Paul Trible at the Harvard Model Congress, Miss Whitworth was selected one of the outstanding senators in attendance at the Congress. Outside of academic areas, she is a concert pianist and a member pf Wakefield’s varsity field hockey team.
