THE DRIVER OF THIS 1987 Subaru, Brenda J. Figgins of Etlan, was thrown from her vehicle when she struck a Black Angus cow standing in Rt. 231 just north of Rt. 681 on June 19. Trooper H. A. Newlin said Ms. Figgins’ car flipped three or four times before coming to rest in a ditch. She was transported to Culpeper Memorial Hospital, where shew as treated for minor injuries and released the next day. The cow, owned by J. W. Fletcher of Sperryville, was valued at about $600, and Trooper Newlin estimated damage to the Subaru at $6,000. He placed no charges In the accident. The Sperryville Rescue Squad and Washington Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
