Have a safe Fourth With the holiday weekend upon us, the thoughts of i everyone are riveted on enjoying it, whether at home with * family, in Washington with neighbors, or taking to the road to ‘ be with distant relatives or friends. We wish all our readers a happy and safe Fourth of July, but urge everyone to use caution and prudence in order to avoid happiness turning unexpectedly to tragedy. Every year, come July 5, the newspapers and broadcast media are filled with reports of deaths and injuries caused by careless handling of fireworks, mixing drinking and driving—or boating, and other mishaps. So, we join the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department, the Virginia State Police and the Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association in wishing the county’s residents a happy—and safe—Fourth of July holiday.
