My husband Bobby is a successful building contractor in Rappahannock County and we have two daughters, Amanda (age 6) who will be attending first gride and Bobbie Jolene, who is just 14 months old.
I hope that whoever gets the appointment can donate the time that it needs. This past year I have talked with many parents and their biggest concern was the welfare of their children and the way that they are treated. I think the appointee will need to get out there and see personally what goes on, and you need to be available and be sincere in what you say and do.
I think that the majority of the teachers are good and have a good relationship with their children, but then you have some that don’t know the first thing about children. They don’t listen or care what the children have to say. I’ve been told that a good requirement for teaching should be that they are parents first, then teachers.
Our children are the greatest blessing that God can give us. We are the shepherds to watch over His flock, so why not have the best for them? They are our future and I have great confidence in them.
I would like to add one more thing and that is a whole-hearted apology to Mrs. Kilpatrick. I feel that I may have been rude to speak while you were voicing your opinion at the meeting. Please accept my sincere apology.
