In personnel action, the board accepted the resignations of elementary school assistant principal Betty Settle, kindergarten teacher Deborah Burrow and instrumental music instructor Kathy Hewitt. Mrs. Settle, a former RCES teacher who returned to graduate school for administrative certification, was hired as a first grade teacher. Also hired were Aney Massie as RCES librarian and Jeanie Dwyer as central office secretary.

Mr. Estabrook reported that the School Board accepted bids from Oil Heat and Burner Service, Holtzman Oil Company and Morris Coal Company for supplying gasoline, fiiel oil and coal next year and approved the purchase of two new buses from low bidder Salem Quality Equipment at about $1,000 below what was budgeted for the replacement vehicles. The board also agreed to advertise two modular units for sale via sealed bids to be opened at the School Board’s regular meeting July 14.
