The summer’s second Country Market and Square Dance Festival will be held Saturday, July 11, beginning at 6 p.m. on historic Davis Street in downtown Culpeper, according to Barbara and Ralph Dellevie.
Internationally known square dance caller Ralph Case and his dancers from Upper Marlboro, Md., will again demonstrate this American Art Form as they did the evening of June 13, the first of three events planned to offer a taste qf the, country - food, arts, cra$p and entertainment featuring square dancing.
Mr. Case, 78, who learned to square dance at age 15 in his hometown of Candler, N.C., (about 10 miles west of Asheville) said, early on Saturday evening, “I’m going to show you that you’re never too old to dance. I can dance as fast as any of ’em,” before swinging his wife, Frances, around Davis Street. The youngest member of his group is Erin, age 6.
