KiCUMUNU - Anticipating heavy traffic volume on Virginia’s highways during the July 4 holiday weekend, State Police are encouaging motorists to make their travel plans well in advance and to drive withC.A.R.E.
Operation C.A.R.E. - an acronym for Combined Accident Reduction Effort - is a state-sponsored national program designed to reduce motor vehicle crashes, injuries and fatalities during the holiday periods of Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day. Virginia’s involvement in the program includes increasing the number of troopers available to patrol certain sections of interstate, primary and secondary roads where statistics and experience indicate increased traffic volume and accident frequency can be anticipated.
