By SANDRA RICHARDSON Extension Agent. Home Economic* The CMR Farm Show is now history. The State Fair in Richmond will be taking place September 24October 4. These are opportunities for individuals to share their favorite baked items, canned goods and their favorite talents with others. Some people are gifted in sewing, others in art or quilting, still others in woodworking, to name but a few talents. The bottom line when we enter fairs and farm shows is not whether we win or not, but the opportunity it offers people to share their talents with others and also to gain new ideas to take home. Rappahannock residents shared many items in the recent Farm Show. Entered were wreaths, quilts, clothing items, quilted place mats, art work, toys, canned goods and last but certainly not least were the baked goods. These cooks have very graciously shared their recipes. Toni Updike shares her Coconut Bars. They are quick to make when time is at a premium and taste so good.
