Religious instruction is the responsibility of the church and the home. The school is to educate and this arrangement can and does work well for those who have given it a chance.
The “rolling chapel” to provide religious instruction during school hours is not needed and is a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.
From my personal knowledge of what is going on in religious circles, I see this as yet another effort to ram fundamentalism down the throats of unsuspecting or uninformed people. This, too, can be found in some churches for those who are looking for it. I hope our School Board and the school administration will not rely on the reputations of the few who are recommending it, but will inform themselves before making a decision on this question. I believe from what I read in the paper, the majority of the School Board has already voted against it and that should be the end of it.
