To the editor:
On page 6 of the Rappahannock News dated July 30, under Church Activities, there are announcements of services at 17 churches in our area and there are several more whose services were not publicized in this issue.
There is no shortage of churches of several denominations in our county. Churches have as their mission reaching people, discipling converts and providing meaningful experiences for all who involve themselves in the various activities offered. Everyone has the freedom to worship at the church of choice and to be involved to the extent desired.
With as many churches as we have in this small county there surely is a church within easy reach of every family. In fact, there are at least two churches which have had to close their doors for lack of congregations to keep them operating. There are churches within walking distance for hundreds of people and the majority of families have cars. There are several churches that operate van or bus transportation.
