The Virginia Department of Transportation has I opening for Highway Equipment Operator B at the VYarrenton Residency • Construction Crew. Good position with excellent fringe benefits, consisting of paid hospitalization, sick leave, vacation, holidays, as well as a good retirement system. Applications are available at the Wanenton Highway Residency Office or at the Virginia Employment Commission. Completed applications must be submitted before 5:00 P.M. on August 14, 1987 Duties: Operates and maintains medium-duty highway equipment, such as trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers, and backhoes, to accomplish tasks related to snow removal, preventive and corrective maintenance work, and state force construction. Performs manual labor and supervises laborers in performing road maintenance duties or operating equipment. Performs preventive and minor maintenance on equipment. Fills out equipment rental records and timesheets. Qualifications: Valid Virginia Operator's license. Ability to operate trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers and backhoes. Must be physically able to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to complete reports on hours worked and materials used. Ability to instruct others in operating and maintaining equipment.
