The Flower Show School, Course II, the second in a series of five programs sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service and the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs Inc. will be held at The English Inn, Charlottesville, Monday to Thursday, Aug. 24 to 27.
The course is open to the public. Registrations should be sent to Mrs. Leon Mitchell, 2715 Saratoga Dr., Winchester, Va. 22601. Total cost is $35. Morning or afternoon sessions are $9 each. Registration forms must be received by Aug. 14 in order to receive a study manual by mail.
Mrs. Ivy Engard, of Richmond, will teach Flower Show Practice and Design, and Prof. Albert S. Beecher will be the instructor for horticulture. Flower Show Practice and Horticulture will be taught on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Design on Wednesday the 26th. For those wishing to receive credit, an exam will be given Thursday, Aug. 27. To receive credit students must be members of a garden club that is a part of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.
Registration at The English Inn will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, and from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, the day classes begin.
