A Paul Laxalt for President Committee has been formed in Front Royal.

Announcement of the new committee was made July 21 by its chairman, John K. Scott.

“We are very pleased to announce the formation of this committee,” Mr. Scott said. “The Senator has been a home owner here in Warren County for several years and we have come to know him not only as the man we want as our next president, but also as our neighbor and friend.”

Sen. Laxalt appointed Mr. Scott officially on March 21 to be his Front Royal man. Mr. Scott has been seeking and organizing a committee since then. The committee met for the first time on July 8 and elected several local residents to fill key positions.

Besides Mr. Scott, they are: Lawrence Brinckman co-chairman, Dottie McDaniel treasurer, Adele Hatcher assistant treasurer, and G. Sue Ladd secretary.

The committee is exploring methods to raise funds and solicit contributions in support of Sen. Laxalt’s bid for the Republican nomination for president of the United States of America.
