Mr. and Mrs. David Bates hosted an autumn get-together of their friends at their home here, Range View, during the last weekend of September. Those here for the occasion were Marie Noster and James Hall of Arlington, Mrs. Marion Metcalfe and Jeanette Fitzwilliams of Alexandria, Mr. and Mrs. Jenckes Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiese of Bethesda, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gieseking of Onley, Md., Dave Schlain of Greenbelt, Md., Paul Strain of Rockville, Md., Mr. and Mrs. George Huber of Etlan, Mrs. Katie Phillips of Manassas and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Monroe of Moneta, Va. Saturday the group visited Montpelier in Orange County and on Sunday they went for a lovely drive and returned home, laden with fresh-picked apples.
