Hospice training begins Oct. 20

Hospice of the Rapidan is accepting volunteer applications for the fall training sessions to be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 'Diursdays beginning Oct. 20 to Nov. 10 at the Orange County Nursing Home. Volunteers are needed from your county. For an application and information call 826-4840.

Flea Market at Flint Hill

A fall fund-raiser, flea market sponsored by the Flint Hill firfe department will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 beginning at 10 a.m. at the fire hall. Donations will be greatly appreciated and the department will be happy to pick up items. Refreshments will be available duriig the day and the Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will have their annual fall festival dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold its fall fund raiser — a cocktail party and buffet on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Horseshoe Hollow Farm on Fodderstack Rd., Washington, home of Diana and Lee Bird. The Rappahannock Hunt will be having their annual fall yard sale on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sperryville Emporium. “Come purchase a bargain and support!the Hunt," said an organizer. *

NSDAR to meet in Washington

The regular monthly meeting of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, N.S.D.A.R. will be on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m., at the Rappahannock Historic Society, Washington, Va. Miss Ruby Jenkins, Curator will speak on “First Washington Museum."
