I had the Grand Champion Lamb this year at the Culpeper, Madison, Rappahannock Farm Show. My market lamb was in my possession about three months. During this time, I trained and fed my lamb.
I took my lamb to the Farm Show on July 23. There I cleaned and prepared my lamb for the show. When I first went into the show ring, I was very nervous.
Finally, after some time the judge announced I had the winning lamb in my class. I had to leave the ring and prepare myself and my lamb to come back to the ring and compete again.
The other class winners were in the ring at this time and this is when I was told my lamb was the Grand Champion.
I was shocked! It was an honor for me and an experience I will always remember.
