The 1988 Hagerstown Town & Country Almanack is now on the newsstands - 191st year of publication!
“The hottest item in the Almanack is the conjecture of the weather and we have been improving our record year after year,” a spokesman for the publication said.
“From November 19, 1987, to March 31, 1988 - a period of 134 days - we feel the winter will be a relatively mild one and very similar to last year. We are predicting 75 cold days, 60 wet days and 16 cyclonic storms.
“With regard to snowfall, we will stick out our neck and predict 55 inches of snow, which is approximately 20 inches j©0£e than average for this area. Last year the official total of fallen snow for Hagerstown was 37 1/2 inches and we had predicted 44 inches.
