Lions Club meets Oct. 14
The Rappahannock Lions Club will hold its regular meeting at the Corner Post on Wednesday, Oct. 14. All members are requested to attend this important meeting, where final plans for the club’s fall hindraising will be discussed.
Washington Business Council
The October meeting of the Washington Business Council will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Village Cafe, beginning at 6:15 p.m. A council spokesman requested that all members of the council plan to attend, since final plans for the Colonial Christmas celebration will be discussed.
Artist, spirit and land workshop
“Artists, shamans, psychics and mythmakers have always felt and worked out of a powerful understanding of and connections with the deep spiritual and creative energies of the land,” said Dr. Denise Horton, a clinical psychologist who works extensively with artists and the creative process. Dr. Horton will lead this workshop, which will explore “the connections between the creative process and the wellsprings of land and spirit from which it flows.” The workshop will be held Sunday, Oct. 11 at Golden Horse Farm in Hume. Harvest dinner at Flint Hill
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will be serving their harvest dinner on Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Old Virginia ham and turkey with all the trimmings, vegetables, desserts and etc. will be served buffet style. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children
Girl Scouts requesting bulbs
The Rappahannock Girl Scouts are doing a service project by planting bulbs at the Rappahannock Recreational Center. Anyone who is cleaning out their flower beds and would like to donate any unwanted bulbs should contact Jean Welch at 987-8332, Carolyn Manwaring at 967-8433 er Sharon Kilpatrick at 987-8252.
