Kathleen Willis
Kathleen Cater Wilis, the widow of General James S. Willis of Mount Prospect Farm, Washington, Va., died Oct. 1.
Mrs. Willis was a native of Forsythe, Ga. She had lived in Macon most of her life until moving to Washington, Va., three years ago.
She was a member of the Morning Garden Club, Macon Artist Association, Mary Hammond Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a member of Washington Baptist Church, a former member of Vineville Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Douglas R. Webb of Highstown, NJ; one son, Colonel James S. Willis of Washington, VA; one brother, Fletcher S. Cater of Dublin, GA; one sister, Mrs. William W. Baxley of Macon, GA; one sister-inlaw, Mrs. Edwin Market of Macon GA; and three grandchildren, Cater Kathleen Webb of Highstown, NJ, Michelle W. Adams of Charlottesville and James S. Willis III of Washington.
Graveside services were held Oct. 5 at the Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Lloyd Landrum officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Friends of the Library Memorial Book Fund for large print books, P.O. Box 5412, Macon, Ga. 31208.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry St., Macon, Ga. 31201 handled the arrangements.
