Deputy R. D. Hawkins of
the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department has attended and completed an inservice certified state-approved police school at Blue Ridge Community College in Staunton. The week of school was from September 26 to October 1. The course included instruction in search and seizure, juvenile law, defensive tactics, civil liberties, crime scene investigation, police interviewing and hostage situations.
A turkey dinner with all the trimmin’s will be served at the Flint Hill fire hall from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 16. The dinner is served each year in conjunction with the house tour and flower sale; however, it is sponsored by and benefits the United Methodist Church of Flint Hill. The dinner is $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for children under 12.
