Saying he had visited the location and reviewed Mr. Young’s site plan, Supervisor Henry offered a motion to deny the special permit application. “If it wasn’t on a private road, I would support it, but here I think it would be detrimental.”

With Supervisor Newbill Miller abstaining on the grounds of conflict (he sold the lot to the Youngs and retains a residual financial interest in adjoining property), the denial of the permit application was unanimous.

In another zoning-related action, the supervisors approved the resubdivision of three parcels, a 99-acre lot and two five-acre lots, into three lots of 10, 20 and 80 acres. “This has no impact on density,” said Mr. McCarthy of R. Matthew Iten’s special exception application. “It only makes lots bigger that were smaller.”
