Second, Sen. Miller said, Mr. Chase’s literature alleged that “Miller sponsored a bill to require localities to allow double-wide mobile homes in some places currently barred by localities, despite acknowledging that he received 337 protests from Culpeper and Rappahannock counties alone.”

The truth, Sen. Miller said, is that “I received petitions with 337 signatures SUPPORTING my efforts ... I wrote to all supervisors in the 26th Senate District, including Mr. Chase,” pointing out that petitions in that number had been received by his office.

And, Sen. Miller said, Mr. Chase’s allegation that he had voted against Gov. Baliles’s proposal to upgrade roads in the 26th District, including several main highways and more than 400 miles of secondary roads, is also false.
