Fire danger still High
Despite the drenching rains which inundated the county last weekend, the danger of wildfire is still high, according to Forest Warden Tippy Jenkins. He said that the much-needed moisture was rapidly absorbed into the ground, and the remaining was quickly evaporated by the wind. Warden Jenkins urges residents to use extreme caution when burning outside. The county schools' Vocational Education Advisory Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in the high school home economics classroom. Among the agenda items are discussions of current offerings and plans for special events this year. Students will also demonstrate the use of the computerassisted design (CAD) equipment in the Technology Education department. The committee serves as an oversight group for the vocational education program in the county, which is run in conjunction with the Piedmont Technical Education Center in Culpeper. The public is invited to attend the meeting. ,
