Here are some recipes for treats that are sure to please visitors as well as party guests:

Baked caramel corn

1 cup butter or margarine

2 cups firmly packed browVi j sugar

1/3 cup light or dark com syrup

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. soda

1 tsp. vanilla

6 qts. popped com

Melt butter; stir in brown sugar, com syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popped com, mixing well. Turn into 2 large shallow baking pans. Bake in 250-degree oven 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. Break apart. Makes about 5 quarts caramel com.

Easy caramel popcorn balls

Melt 28 caramels with 2 Tbsps. water in covered double boiler or in saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally until sauce is smooth. Pour over 2 qts. salted popped com. Toss until every com kernel is coated. With hands slightly moistened with cold water, form into 6 balls. (Note: To vary, add 1 cup candy com to popcorn before tossing with caramel.)
