“Vote Democratic.” I hope you will do this — although I cannot think of anything, at the moment, which the Democratic Party has done for you and me in recent years nor of anything I expect from them in the near future years, except their continued existence as the Opposition Party. That, in itself, contributes indirectly — no matter whom they choose to nominate. So I urge you to choose for their county spokesman a person of Marocchi’s intelligence and ability — if they have such — to state explicitly and clearly their key principles, which will be understood and be found acceptable by Rappahannock voters.
Who knows? Maybe their spokesman’s unvarnished truth is the rabbit-from-the-hat magic needed by Gov. Dukakis and his supporters at this late and critical juncture of the campaign!
