and even if I could have, I no longer would have been wearing nursing “whites.” As it was, I didn’t make it to Richmond that day.
I thanked the young man who stopped several times, but words are so inadequate in some cases and so I am writing this letter in hopes that the young man will see it.
He said he was from Sperryville, and attending college in Richmond. To him I say, “God bless you, young man, and may you never lose your Good Samaritan character.”
I will never forget your kind deed to me. Thank you again from the lady in white.
