“Rappahannock County is such a i oeautiful place to work, I’m so glad to be back!” Marion Facchina, the county’s new public health nurse, announced last week.
Even though she’s been on the job only since Sept. 1, Marion should be almost as familiar to Rappahannock people as her predecessor, Frances Thornton, who held the same post for 36 years.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Eastham of Red Hill, she was bom and raised in Rappahannock. Marion probably knows everybody who attended Rappahannock County High School between 1975 and 1985. The class of 1980’s valedictorian, she was president of the Student Council Association, an officer ip the Varsity Club, a member of the National Honor Society, on the Rhapsody staff and a starter for the girls’ basketball team.
She certainly is familiar to anyohe who’s involved with horses, not just in Rappahannock but throughout the Piedmont region.
