I was near tears as I told him how glad I was that he had stopped. I told him that there must have been at least a hundred cars which passed by and not one would stop. “It’s a sad world we are living in, but I’m so glad that you stopped,” I told him.
The young man said he didn’t know what is wrong with people today that no one wanted to give a little old lady some help. “I would hate to see my mother in your predicament. . .’’hesaid.
I thanked him again, and added, “They must have thought I had a .46 in my handbag — maybe that’s the reason that no one would stop.”
The young man dropped me off at a gas station at the next exit, where I called my son-in-law. He called work and then came to my assistance.
