It’s the kind of situation, the coach said, which small schools are too often faced with. Larger school districts can afford space for their teams to practice in the off-season, but RCHS doesn’t have the room, hp said.

“Basically, we’re looking for a large enclosed area,” Coach Leake said. “If someone has such a building which we could use two or three days a week for two or three hours at a time, we would provide labor to clean it up in return for the use. ”

Ideally, he said, it would be large enough for the batting cage and pitching machine to be set up. That would allow pitching and batting practice, and infielders could also practice with grounders off the floor.

Coach Leake asked anyone who might have such a space available to contact him at Rappahannock County High School (987-8575). He said he will be happy to provide more information about the team’s requirements for space, as well as clean-up.
