'Crocodile Dundee If'
The movie, Crocodile Dundee II will play at the Gay St. Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The movie stars Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski. He’s back! America’s favorite Australian comedy import, “Crocodile” Dundee, returns for more adventure, more comedy and more romance in the sensational sequel to 1986’s surprise hit. When the love of his life (Kozlowski) is threatened by a band of murderous hoodlums, the two return to the “Land Down Under,” where Dundee wages an all-out war on his own turf. “Crocodile”
Dundee II retains all the warmt^ wit and charm of the original, while adding some surprising new twists of its own. The movie is rated PG; admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
County Beautification Day
The Rappahannock Anti-Litter League and You (RALLY) will sponsor its annual County Beautification Day on Saturday, April 1. Planned as a cleanup of the most litter-strewn areas of the county, RALLY is encouraging the participation of as many of the county’s residents as possible. Wakefield talent show
The junior class of Wakefield School in Huntly is sponsoring a talent show Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. Students and faculty members will display both serious and not-so-serious talents. The Wakefield talent show is open to the public. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.
Library poetry program offered
A large-screen video program and lively audience discussion will be held Tuesday, March 7 about the most influential poet of his generation, T.S. Eliot, at 7 p.m. in the new auditorium of the Rappahannock County High School. Film footage from St. Louis, Boston, London and France follows Eliot’s career from the bold originality of “J. Alfred Prufock” to the probing style of his “Four Quartets.” Sponsored by the Rappahannock County Library and made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association, this program is one of a series on “Making it New — the Origins of Modern Poetry" on 20th-century poets which the library is offering every other Tuesday through April 11. The other poets in the series are Langston Hughes on March 21, Elizabeth Bishop on April 4, and Sylvia Plath on April 11. There is no charge for the program. Artists and Friends
Middle Street Gallery is hosting its third annual gallery Artists and Friends show which will be a survey of art from Moscow to Toronto, L.A. to Boston and points in-between. The public is invited to the opening presentation of 40 artists’ works on Saturday, March 4 from 3-7 p.m. The gallery will also present new photographs by honorary member Edik Gladkov of Moscow. The exhibit will run through March 26. Gallery hours are Friday-Sunday 11-6 p.m. or by appointment. For further information call 675-3440.
