RICHMOND — All eyes were on the House of Delegates’ scoreboard Monday, Feb. 20, as Del. Richard Cranwell’s vote light switched from green to red on a vote to remove amendments that w'ould limit local governments’ conditional zoning powers. , Efforts to remove the restrictive amendments from the zoning bill failed in the House by a 43-53 vote. The amendments were stripped from a Senate version of the bill last Week.
The fate of a bill that aims specifically at giving Fauquier County conditional zoning authority remains unclear after opposition to the more general bill. Rappahannock County will also be included, under language which makes counties contiguous
