For the addition to be built, a small white building called the “summer kitchen” on the Gay Street side of the current jail building will have to be moved.
County Administrator John McCarthy told the supervisors that members of the town’s Architectural Review Board would like to see the building saved. In recent years the only maintenance on the building has been occasional repainting. Mr. McCarthy told the supervisors that he questions whether the building can be moved without falling apart. The generator now kept in the building would be moved under the porch.
