On h riday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 the Virginia Herb Growers and Marketers Association will hold its Third Annual Conference at the Fort Magruder Inn and Conference Center in Williamsburg.
The conference begins on Friday with the business meeting at 2:30 p.m. immediately followed by “Growing an Herb Business" presented by Ralph Cramer of Cramer’s Posie Patch, Columbia, Pa. Mr. Cramer will share his experiences as a large-scale producer of herbs and everlastings. Dinner speaker Portia Meares, president of the International Herb Growers and Marketers Association, will share recent happenings in the herb marketplace in ther presentation "As The Herb World Turns.”
The Saturday morning portion of the conference will address the healthful aspects of herbs. Leading this segment will be "As 1 See It: Growing Organically,” presented by Maureen Messick of La Dama Maya Herb Farm, Luray. Ms. Messick will discuss her experiences growing herb plants and field-grown herbs and everlastings without chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
