If you would like to have wild animals and song birds visit your backyard to observe year-round, then C.M. Crockett Park has a program
for you. The workshop, “Invite Wildlife to your Backyard,” on Saturday, March 11, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
Free information from state and federal wildlife agencies will be offered. Be sure to bring a slide or photo of your yard for ideas. There will be a slide presentation. Bird feeders and houses will be offered for sale.
Intended for participants 16 and older, this workshop will take place at the Fauquier Outdoor Education Lab. The lab is located behind the vocational wing. Follow the trail to the lab (watch for signs). Handicapped persons may use the driveway that leads to the lab.
There is a $1 fee per person to be collected at the door to cover expenses. For more information on the program or directions to the lab, please call the park staff at (703) 7884867.
