Virginia farmers have until April 14 to sign up at their local Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service offices for the 1989 feed grain, wheat and cotton programs, the extension service announced.
The common changes from 1988 are the lower target prices and loan rates on all program crops. The potential deficiency payment rates will change very little. Acreage reduction requirements are lower for the feed grains and wheat, but higher for cotton.
Some of the major changes are:
