captain Brett Walters was assessed his fourth early in the third quarter while guarding Dunn. Some unnecessary dramatics by Walters also earned him a technical from the striped moderators. Dunn converted the three-point play for a 45-37 spread.
With Walters on the bench, Rappahannock tightened its defense and built its biggest lead, 55-43, with under a minute left in the period. But Central forced three quick turnovers for the final six points and trailed by only six, 49-55, going into the fourth period.
The Falcons kept the spurt going in the fourth quarter, getting their eighth unanswered point before Julian Groves hit his first shot of the night to make it 57-51. Central continued to chip away, and with three minutes remaining, the score was 63-60 following a layup by Todd Brinkley.
Brinkley had a great night, especially on defense when he drew the unenviable task of guarding Dunn. Eric, who finished with 25 points, only scored six in the second half with Brinkley covering him.
