she said. Volunteerism was defined during the workshop, as taking responsibility in response to need, with the goal of producing benefits to others as an expression of human relatedness. Ms. Grant and Mrs. Heddleston had extensive training in methods to develop and enhance volunteer programs during the workshop.
The volunteer program at Rappahannock Schools has placed tutors in the Remedial Math and Reading Program at the elementary and high schools. Any person interested in learning more about the program or becoming a volunteer tutor is asked to contact Mrs. Heddleston at the School Board Office (987-8773).
