Cadet Lawrence Sanford
Conners, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Conners of Woodville, has been promoted to the rank of Sgt. 1st Class in the Cadet Corps of Frederick Military Academy, Portsmouth. Cadet Conners is a member of the plainsmen rifle and pistol club, wrestling team and the Spanish club.
Three senior girls at Rappahannock County High School have been elected to the Society of Outstanding American High School students. They are Beth O’Bannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. O’Bannon of Woodville, Janet Hackley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Hackley of Amissville and Carter Moffett, whose parents are Judge and Mrs. W.F. Moffett Jr. of Washington.

For the first time since the
establishment of the Rappahannock Farmers’ Co-operative, its volume of business topped the million-dollar mark in 1973. This was disclosed in a report by the local Co-op manager, Gordon Thornhill at the annual membeship meeting Monday evening at Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria. Total for the past year stood at $1,012,703.67, said Mr. Thornhill.
