Remedial Education volunteer tutor Penny Grant attended a three-dav workshop on “Developing School Volunteer Programs” in Waynesboro, Va., along with April Heddleston, the Rappahannock County Schools’ volunteer coordinator.

The expenses for the workshop were paid through a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justices Services. This grant was provided because the more persons who are involved in schools in addition to school employees, the less juvenile delinquents there are expected to be, Mrs. Heddleston explained.

Volunteers provide role models of involved, caring people who help students to become more well-rounded individuals.
