Winter arrives Dec. 21

Though most residents would swear winter started back around Thanksgiving, its official arrival comes at 4:22 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21. Although the National Weather Service is offering no respite from the wintry chill, there is one bright spot to mark the occasion. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, and we will see more daylight as the winter progresses.
